I really like this persons sketches... they've got the character and organic shapes that create a feeling of gravitation. They're sort of like graphics that look good on a board or other things like it. They're not heavily branded with a name or punchy idea, they're just very pleasant to see, and they evoke feelings of structure and icon.

This one also evokes connection through organic shapes. I love the fire/fish and the octopus. I don't necessarily see animals coming out to the final product, but modeling on living things always appeals to me. This is less about lettering and words and more about a feeling of flow. This person has drawn a lot of things we see every day, which when done in a slightly different way impresses me. I'd like to see where the ideas go from here.

On the names, there seems to be a pattern of "hugging", which we want to avoid-it's too soft. The feelings that should be evoked are connection, oneness, stability, a little crazy and edgy, but secure; safety in chaos all around.

  2. Jay, overall, a good starting point. I want to mention several themes I noticed and what we would like to see more of.

In addition to the above comments, overall we are going for a feeling of fun. Our mission statement is, "Give them permission to play. We bring more FUN into the lives of millions of customers. We do this by creating innovative products that lighten their burdens, increase their laughter and adrenaline, and give them experiences and distractions they become addicted to."

This product is literally lightening their burdens and allowing them to have more fun.

We want to focus more on the nostalgia, but also introduce a slight edge of reverent rebellion. I posted some additional comments on others logo concepts and mood boards that may also give additional insight.
